CAPACITY TOUCH-SWITCH

This switch is sensitive to the capacity effect of the body (or hand) when they are brought very close to the top of this unit. The technical principle which makes it work is called "charge-transfer". As implemented here, this unit provides a practical touch-switch, which plugs into a 120 V AC wall socket... with a 6 ft. cord. When the plastic top label of the unit is gently touched, the outlet socket on the back of the unit is toggled between ON and OFF … with each separate touch. Thus, the power to the lamp (or other device), plugged into the outlet, is controlled. The unit can switch power loads up to a 600 Watts (5 amps at 120 V AC.) Normally, bedside lamps draw 100 watts of power, or less. The unit will also work fine with fluorescent lamps.

Considering the simplicity of the concept, everyone that has tried this Touch-Switch, finds it to be extremely handy and worthwhile. This is particularly handy when used to switch a bed-side night stand lamp. It makes it much easier to turn on the lamp, as well as, reducing the risk of knocking over the lamp, pill bottles and/or water glasses sitting on the night table. It is particularly useful for ill or frail individuals.

It is also useful for other special purposes.
